McFroo.com is Spanish-friendly; some of our poetry has been translated into Spanish! It is available here at McFroo.com under Poetry. In the Upgraded section of our Curricular Resources, you will find translations of some of our poem explanations. These are great for ESL teachers or native Spanish speakers who are working on their English language skills!
Grown-ups can check out our Adults' Forums, where you will find special bulletin boards for parents, teachers, writers, and illustrators to meet and share ideas, teaching suggestions and questions, artwork, poetry, and more. In the Curricular Resources section, you will find a sample of our poetry and curriculum, which is keyed to different student ability levels and Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. Some of our curricular resources have Spanish translations also!
Some of our resources and forums are free, while some require a reasonably priced Account Upgrade. Kids' upgrades are $5 a month, and adults' are $12 a month. In our Curricular Resources, you will find projects and curricular ideas for many different levels and types of students (mainly grades 2-7), special gifted project ideas, remedial project ideas, and ideas keyed to Gardener's Multiple Intelligences. We believe in working high on Bloom's Taxonomy to develop higher order thinking skills, creativity, and active learning!
We have lots of characters in our poetry and on our site, but the main ones are Froofie McFroo, the mischievious dog girl who gives the site its name, and Twickie Dog, the prim and proper dog girl who always tries to do the right thing! Then there is Owen, an artist rabbit who loves to draw hawks, and Jose' the otter, who makes friends with a lake monster and gets another new friend at the same time! These and other characters bring learning to life on McFroo.com!
